A new multifunctional clubhouse is being built for the Elbe Water Sports Club (Wassersportverein Elbe e.V.) on the Kaltehofe island in the River Elbe in Hamburg.

The plans include modern facilities for boat storage, workshops, club activities and administration. The construction project is being funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and the Hamburg-Mitte District Office.

Once completed, the building will not only serve the club’s needs but will also be available as an open meeting place for the Rothenburgsort neighbourhood. The start of construction work was officially marked by a celebratory event organised by the water sports club.
