In addition to the external measures, the interior of the Old Seminary has also been completely refurbished. Historical elements were restored or recreated with great care in order to preserve the historical atmosphere. At the same time, the building was fitted out in a modern style for its new use as a tax office. This careful combination of historical and contemporary aspects allows the building to be used functionally without compromising its listed character.
The refurbishment of the Old Seminary in keeping with its listed status has not only restored its original architectural quality, but has also given it a new purpose as a central location in Eckernförde. It is now a living landmark that represents the history of the town and its development.
With the renovation of the Old Seminary, we have contributed to the preservation of an important piece of the town’s history and created the basis for the sustainable use of this unique building.
